Historical Background

Thomas Marsh became acquainted with the Church through his association with Oliver Cowdery. They became friends during the time when the Book of Mormon was in the process of being published. He was married and had one child. He was baptized in early September 1830 by David Whitmer. He was ordained an elder in the Church later in that same month.
